The Cambridge University Library is digitizing over 8,000 medical recipes discovered in 180 ancient manuscripts from the 14th century, with some dating back 1,000 years.
Some of the documents have elaborate pictures that show doctors using different kinds of substances, such as animals, plants, and minerals.
Full transcriptions of the remedies, as well as high-resolution photographs, will be made available for free. (via)
